Oregano leaves themselves are also used for detoxification of food and stimulation of appetite. These leaves are golden in colour, but when the oil gets extracted from them, they turn red. The oil is very strong by nature, and is therefore used in a diluted form. Oregano has been shown to be effective in eradicating intestinal parasites also. However, it should be used very carefully because direct contact of the oil with the skin or any sensitive part of the body can hurt and cause severe burns to the skin.

Oregano plants are widely grown in Turkey. It is also believed that it is useful only if it is taken in correct amount, otherwise it can also have adverse effects on the human body. Sinus infections, flu, pneumonia, chest congestions, sore throat, infected gums, UTI, gingivitis, gastritis, and prostatitis are all cured by taking correct dose of oregano oil. Surprisingly, it is also used as a substitute for toothpaste, because it also kills the bacteria present in the mouth.

Therefore, a drop of oregano oil on the toothbrush can be used to cure mouth infections also. These natural products are basically the primary elements which are now the necessity of our everyday lives.

One study showed that oregano completely inhibits the growth of 25 germs such as Staphylococcus aureas, Escherichia coli, Yersinia enterocolitica and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This oil is being in use since years. Earlier, when there were no professional doctors, treatment of the problems were done by these natural sources. From that time it was detected that this plant can be used as cure to various biological problems. Hence, it is clear that this wonder oil is indeed a very beneficial product, and even if one is in perfect health, Oregano Oil can be used for the multitude of benefits it offers.
